Art Deco bookcase manufactured around 1925, furniture entirely made of Macassar Ebony veneer and black lacquered wood. Bookcase opening on the front on each side via two gadroon-molded front doors, storage is made up of shelves (height adjustable by brass racks). The recessed central part of the body of the furniture opens in the upper part with a glass door with a metal frame giving access to a mahogany exhibition space made up of two glass shelves, in the lower part there are three drawers. Cornice in black lacquered wood molded with gadroon patterns. Base in molded black lacquered wood resting on six round legs. Original brass hardware. Signed E.JACQUEMIN in a marquetry cartouche on the back of a door Authentic Art Deco period piece of furniture, fully restored in our cabinetmaking workshop. Jacquemin furniture factory was founded in Strasbourg in 1812 by Louis-César Jacquemin, before being transferred by his grandson Charles-Emile Jacquemin (1845-1925) to Schiltigheim in 1894. The factory was expanded in 1909 , according to plans by Strasbourg architects Berninger and Krafft. These sons and grandsons continued the activity until 1985.
