"The Blacksmith Of German Sculptor Reinhard Schnauder"
Very strong sculpture by the artist. A very beautiful nuanced patina, not easy to do. With the marble base the sculpture measures 72cm.Reinhard Schnauder was born in Plauen in Vogtland as the son of the woodcarver Julius Schnauder, who lived in Dresden from 1865 to 1880.[1] From 1875 to 1876 he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Dresden and was a student of Ernst Hähnel and his close colleague until 1881.[2] From 1886 he worked independently in his own studio in Dresden. In 1886 he became a member of the Allgemeine Deutsche and the Dresden Art Cooperative. In addition to sculptures, his artistic works were mainly small sculptures, portraits, and cemetery artwork.[3] Reinhard Schnauder was the father of the sculptor Richard Georg Schnauder.
