Set of three spectacular mangers carved from a single block of marble. Very beautiful patina of use. Origin: Stables of the Château de Rouville in the commune of Malesherbes. Notes: The Château de Rouville was built in 1492 by Hectoir de Boissy, Grand Panetier of the King of France Charles VIII, on the ruins of a fortress which dated from the 9th century. Around 1580, the building became the property of the Italian Fera-Rouville family then was bought in 1846 by the Aboville family, the year during which it was restored by the architects Châtelain and Lavenant. From 1863, the castle was renovated under the leadership of Ernest and Alphonse Gabriel d'Aboville by the architect Magne in a neo-Renaissance style.
