"'ruins' Pair Of Oil On Canvas Paintings, G. P. Pannini Amb."
Pair of oil on canvas paintings datable to the turn of the 17th and 18th centuries. The genre of 'capricci' with ruins had a particular development in the period of our paintings and often with recurring stylistic references and scores. In many ways the prevailing classicism harks back to the end of the 17th century, but some of the inventions of the details of the ruins and the poses of the figures recall the manner of a young G.P Pannini, a painter from Piacenza who achieved some of the highest results in the genre. Our canvases come from a private collection in Bologna and are unpublished, awaiting further study.Good state of preservation.
Size of each canvas: 115 x 90 cm approx.
