"Diane Huntress By Levasseur, Patinated Bronze Sculpture, Late 19th Century"
Patinated bronze statue representing Diane Chasseresse by Henri Louis Levasseur (1853-1934) She is represented standing, barefoot on a deer, a bow in her left hand, her right arm raised. Beautiful quality of bronze carving. Against gilded bronze base with brass plaque mentioning "Hors competition". Signed Levasseur on the terrace. Very good condition, beautiful patina, Diane's tiara just seems to be missing as is very often the case on these bronzes. Period late 19th century, early 20th century around 1900. Delivery 50 euros in France, 100 euros in the EU and 200 euros rest of the world.
