Born in 1877 in Bordeaux. Student of Cabié and Camps, he first studied wall decoration.Quickly, he specialized in landscape, a genre in which he will excel. Faithful to classical traditions, but attracted by impressionism. Marius Gueit soon became a recognized landscape painter. It crosses the Bassin d'Arcachon, the Landes de Gascogne, the Basque Country. Endowed with a real look, Marius Gueit knows how to restore his feeling in front of nature in his compositions, he skillfully handles impasto, lights and shadows.
