Alberto GIACOMETTI asked the Paris mint to entrust the realization of his medal to Marguerite Lavrillier-Cossaceanu. This one , with whom he has maintained friendships for almost 30 years, already has his bust in 1954. The illustrated General Catalogue of medals for sale Monnaie de Paris (Paris, Imprimerie Nationale, t IV, 1946-1966) specifies for the obverse: "Right profile effigy of Alberto Giacometti, made from nature, and that the model had approved shortly before his death". The obverse of the medal is reproduced in the French Medal Club (1967, n°15, 2nd trimester, p 65)
