"Louis Frequenez: Fishermen On The Malabar Coast, Oil On Wood."
He trained at the Beaux-Arts in Dijon before moving to Paris where he was a student of Cormon and Gagliardini. He travels to the Far East (Cochinchina). Our picture is painted during the trip, on the west coast of the Indian subcontinent (between Bombay and Cochin). He exhibited from 1901 and won a gold medal in 1927. In 1937 he decorated the village hall in the town of Beaune. It is an oil on beveled panel signed lower right with the sale stamp. Small oak frame.
