"Napoleon III Period Gueridon Or Occasional Table"
A very ornate Mid-19th century guéridon, or occasional table, featuring three circular tiers – each one encircled by an intricate gallery of openwork bronze. Each tier is beautifully inlaid with marquetry - the upper with a complex geometric design surrounding sprays of delicate foliage, the lower two echoing the same geometric design in natural wood. Each of the four legs is beautifully curved and shaped, and embellished with bronze mouldings. There are some small blemishes as would be expected for an antique piece of this age.
