On a square base, with a plain throat, a rare sugar bowl or bezel in solid silver with an ovoid shape, from the late 18th century (1798 for Moscow). The bowl with its filleted rim is set in a cup made of oblong leaves. finely chiseled, it is flanked by scrolled handles, leafy applique points. The dome-shaped lid is topped with a spinning top fret decorated with a blackened wooden ring. As a reminder of the body, we find in carving, the same radiant foliage. The play of vermeil on silver is always a beautiful contrast to achieve for a goldsmith and here, it is remarkably highlighted. The interior is vermeil, very dense and in excellent condition.
