"Large Walnut Inkwell And Pomponne From The 18th Century."
Extremely rare large walnut mounted in an 18th century inkwell, possibly from the Regency period. The interior is made of pompom engraved with foliage (gilded copper) and is organized like an inkwell with fabric edges around each hole intended to receive either ink, a quill or drying powder. Interior of the lid covered in original fabric. Cap for the inkwell missing. Good general condition given the fragility and age of this object: Missing top hinge, a few cracks on the nut (see photos). Object in its "juice" true curiosity.
