"Mechkabad, Persian, 124 Cm X 209 Cm, Hand-knotted Wool In Iran At The Beginning Of The 20th Century, Good Condition"
This beautiful old rug from the beginning of the 20th century is called Mechkabad, and is 124 cm wide and 209 cm long. This piece is in beautiful condition, the wool is thick, soft and of good quality. These rugs come from the village of the same name. They were called Mahal and then Sarouk-mahal, because they come from the Mahallat region. The city of Mechkabad, very important in the 19th century, was a large center of carpet production, today it is no longer even mentioned on maps. A red medallion placed on a blue field, cut out in ivory on the sides and corners are the design found on these rugs, while using other colors. These pieces are always abundantly decorated with flowers and the flower design of the medallion is often found in the spandrels. Unfortunately many people confuse them with other types of rugs and origins. Our model is in good condition for its age and has the characteristics described above. This rug has been professionally and eco-friendly cleaned. Dimensions: Width: 124 cm (49") x Length: 209 cm (83") FREE SHIPPING FOR FRANCE as for all of our rugs.
