We have just acquired this curious and unusual object which we treat as an object of Popular Art. The particularity of this table or pedestal table is that the seat on the ground represents a sculpted turtle, as for the shaft supporting the bowl top it is also entirely sculpted with two faces of mustachioed men on each side. We can say that this unique piece is indeed from the 19th century and entirely in oak with a beautiful patina of time. (E23)
