"Mahogany Cylinder Desk, Directoire Style – 1st Part 19th"
Directoire Cylinder Desk in solid mahogany and mahogany veneer with two identical drawers in the belt closing with an original lock in working order, with fitted key and threaded entry. Above, a large cylinder opens using two bronze ring handles with rosette. Inside, a large tablet slides out using two finger cavities, revealing a large writing space. This tablet is lined with three black leathers with cold stamp and gold stamp. In the center, a flap rises using a small finger ring and is adjusted at the back. At the bottom, there are four identical drawers with a maple burr front decorated with a mahogany button. Below, four false drawers with an identical front appear when the writing tablet is opened. We also find eight mahogany niches. This Directoire cylinder desk has refined sides highlighted by a rush. The whole rests on covered feet fitted with brass shoes. The top, also in solid mahogany, has a molding around its edge. Due to its manufacturing quality and its wood species, this roll-top desk stands out. It will take place in a refined and distinguished interior. ******** Period: 1st part 19th Century Excellent condition after restoration in our workshop. Waxed finish.
