"Ivory Coast, Senoufo People, First Half Of The 20th Century, Weaving Loom Pulley."
Very pretty loom pulley stirrup from the Sénoufo people of Ivory Coast dating from the first half of the 20th century. Made of wood with a brown patina, it is topped with a human head whose appearance is typical of the Sénoufos. This stirrup was intended to hang the ropes of the horizontal type loom at the level of the pulley. The traces of wear on the carrying holes attest to the use and its age. Good condition except for minor wear. Reference work: “The masters of sculpture of Ivory Coast”. Quai Branly Museum. Skira, 2015.
Height 15.5 cm (total height 19.5 cm with base). The scale indicator in the last photograph is a small model of a lighter from a brand known to everyone.
