"François-rupert Carabin - Octopus Woman Inkwell"
Enamelled stoneware inkwell by the famous sculptor Francois-Rupert Carabin representing a naked woman holding an octopus between her legs. This octopus serves as an inkwell. Circa 1894. A copy of the same model was exhibited in 1897, at the Salon de la Société nationale des Beaux-Arts (n° 42). Another, dependent on the Jules Maciet donation, has been kept since 1903 at the Musée des Arts Decoratifs in Paris (inv. 10.718).
