Object description :

"Old Prayer Kazak, 113 Cm X 152 Cm, Hand-knotted Wool In The Caucasus In The Mid-19th Century"
Rare and interesting model of Kazak prayer rug from the mid-19th century.
Beautiful old collectible rug. Certainly some wear is present, but they allow us to imagine the fervor of the man who owned this property.
In wool on wool, originating from the high mountains of the Caucasus, this piece measures 113 cm wide by 152 cm long.
In a state of collection, this true artifact of Caucasian culture guides us through all of its motifs.
At the top of each side of the geometric mirhab two hands of Fatma, in the niche a rectangle with a white background, the eye of God, surmounting a comb, an object used to card wool, as well as numerous stylized flowers.
In the center of the niche, two imposing red and almond green medallions placed like two rhombuses that can be called "mahitouhouse".
The raw colors are typical of the Caucasus, red, green, black, and a touch of orange, they surround the Kazak rugs, and are tastefully arranged, giving a happy appearance to this type of room.
The green that is rarely used in prayer rugs is present on our model (color of Mohammed's dress), however the Caucasians occasionally but rarely offer this shade.
The main border presents a decoration of stylized flowers with eight petals, bordered on both sides by two pretty gray braids on a red background. For enthusiasts, this pretty piece is in its discovered condition and of very good quality !
This rug has been professionally and environmentally friendly cleaned.
