The Bulu, located in the border area between Cameroon and Gabon, are part of the Fang group. The Bulu also practiced the Ngil ritual to fight against witchcraft and poisoning. Ngi is the gorilla, a formidable animal with which the applicant identifies after his acceptance into the secret society. Their monkey or gorilla statues are notable for their round and simple shapes, and for their great accuracy in observing the animal's attitude.
