HORSE HUNTER'S SABER OF THE IMPERIAL GUARD Period 1st Empire France Mounted in brass, the handle covered with sheepskin, with filigree, the cap with a long tail, the guard with one branch, shuttle-shaped mumps and quillon struck "...sailles" and hallmarked, the curved blade, flat back marked "Mfture Imple du Klingenthal Coulaux Frères" and hollow sides punched at the heel, the brass scabbard, with a leather puncture, iron rings and dart; good condition, pitting and dents from use.
