Jeanne-Aline Quiquandon joined the resistance in 1942 within the Combat network as a courier. Arrested in June 1943, she was sent to the Montluc prison in Lyon and interrogated by the Gestapo[2]. In December 1943, when she was eight months pregnant, the poet Louis Aragon organized her escape. She joined the Lot maquis until the Liberation. After the war, Janine Quiquandon launched the art book publishing house Au Vent d'Arles in 1952[3]. The first book is dedicated to the deportation drawings of Boris Taslitzky. Thanks to the financial support of the cultural centers of the Eastern bloc, the high-priced books published by the company met with rapid success.
