Jeanne-Aline Quiquandon joined the resistance in 1942 within the Combat network as a courier. Arrested in June 1943, she was sent to the Montluc prison in Lyon and interrogated by the Gestapo[2]. In December 1943, when she was eight months pregnant, the poet Louis Aragon organized her escape. She joined the Lot maquis until the Liberation. After the war, Janine Quiquandon launched the art book publishing house Au Vent d'Arles in 1952[3]. The first book is dedicated to the deportation drawings of Boris Taslitzky. Thanks to the financial support of the cultural centers of the Eastern bloc, the high-priced books published by the company met with rapid success. Many artists then published books with Au Vent d'Arles until the liquidation of the publishing house in 1976: Pablo Picasso, Georges Braque, Marc Chagall, Saint-John Perse Michel BEPOIX Michel Bepoix, born in Nice, the June 22, 1937 is a French painter, composing in his early works both characters and figures, animals, nudes, landscapes, interiors, still lifes, flowers. In 1954, at the age of seventeen, Michel Bepoix successfully passed the entrance exam to the National School of Decorative Arts in Nice and joined the workshop of sculptor Maurice Gambier. The most sought-after works of this painter are those from the 50s/60s. Those which bear witness to the expressionism initiated at the same time by Bernard Buffet.
