"Henri Buron (1880-1969) Hsp "fisherman's Houses In Treboul" Brittany"
Oil on panel signed Henri Buron lower left, dated (1948? lower right and located on the back "fishermen's houses in Tréboul". Dimensions of the panel 27x22cm and 47x42cm in its molded wooden frame. Painter and illustrator, student of Fernand Cormon and Albert Lebourg at the Beaux-arts of Rouen then Paris, he was a member of the Society of French Artists, exhibited there from 1924 and received a gold medal in 1935. He was rewarded with other prizes including one medal at the Universal Exhibition of 1937. Brittany is for him his main subject of inspiration, and he created a number of scenes of daily life, markets and seascapes there. He is present in public collections (museums of Quimper, Rouen …) and also often in exhibitions dedicated to Breton painting.
