Object description :

"Béchir Rug, Amou-daria, 227 X 417 Cm, Hand-knotted Wool On Wool, Central Asia, 1970-1980"
Extraordinary Bechir carpet, also called Ersari-Bechir, originating from the Amu-Daria region, former emirate of Bocchara, Afghanistan and Turkmenistan.
This rug measures 227 cm wide by 417 cm long.
These magnificent pieces are knotted by the Turkmen Ersari tribes, in wool on wool, warp, weft and velvet.
These carpets have one of the richest ornamentations in the art of knotting Turkmen carpets from Central Asia and are among the most beautiful. They often have geometric filling and patterns in staggered alignments, as we can see on our model.
The colors are, very pronounced brick red or tile red filling most of the carpet, therefore used as the main color of the ornaments and tight seedlings, highlighted by indigo blue, curry yellow and pure white.
The wool used for these rugs is always very soft and of very high quality, which gives Béchir recognition for quality pieces.
The Bechir are available in small sizes 150 x 200 cm but also in large galleries of 200 x 400 cm, and 300 mx 800 cm.
## The Amu Darya is a river which has its source in the Pamirs, its length is 2540 km, it crosses Afghanistan and Tajikistan, of which it constitutes a large part of their common border, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan , and flows into the Aral Sea.
This rug has been professionally and environmentally friendly cleaned.
