"Large Painting Nabi La Belle Epoque By Patrice Landauer"
Large oil on canvas depicting two young friends with boyish hairstyles, seated in a restaurant, posing for a portrait, by Patrice Landauer, signed lower right. Painting treated in a nabi movement and typical of the Belle Epoque. Beautiful frame, under beige canvas marie-louise, in a gilded and antique green carved wooden frame. Painting in very good condition. Only the marie-louise is very slightly stained on the right part (hardly visible). Total dimensions, with frame, 74.5x95 cm Canvas dimensions 50x70 cm. Born in 1965 in Paris, Patrice Landauer successively followed courses at the École supérieure des arts appliqués (book school - graphic arts section), the Met school in Penninghen (former Julian academy), and the École des fine arts of Paris (paintings section, Albert Zavaro workshop). In the great tradition of traveling painters, Patrice Landau develops a very personal work, going against all the usual trends in contemporary art. He travels through space, bringing back visionary paintings from his stays in Africa, where light dances and shimmers to highlight people and places. He treats animals and men happily, particularly in his representations of the world of horse racing. But he also travels through time, drawing powerful inspirations from his historical culture of images. His works are populated with biplanes from the time of aviation pioneers, locomotives worthy of Gabin's La Bête humaine or Parisian scenes from the Belle Epoque. Patrice Landauer exhibits regularly in France and Belgium.
