Bust of the President of the French Republic Sadi Carnot (1837-1887) represented in a suit and bow tie covered with a coat with a fur collar. He wears the sash and the Legion of Honor.
This bust was made in 1889 by the sculptor Henri Chapu (1833-1891).

Sèvres porcelain biscuit, signed intaglio "h. Chapu" on the pedestal.
Manufacture stamp on the back affixed before firing: "manufacture nationale de Sèvres" as well as the antique potter's mark in front of the wheel
Bears the initials EC and the number 89.
