Francisco Lacoma y Fontanet (Barcelona, 1784 – Passy, 1849) Double portrait of children. Oil on canvas, 32 x 43 cm. Sign. Dated 1839. Initially trained at the official School of Fine Arts in Barcelona, his career developed mainly in France. His specialty was still life painting, winning the gold medal at the Paris Salon in the years 1810 and 1814. He settled in Passy. In France, he established himself as a portraitist of high society. In Spain he was appointed honorary chamber painter to King Ferdinand VII and Academician of Merit of the San Fernando School.
