"Stained Glass - Stained Glass - The Church And The Foyer"
This Art Deco style stained glass window represents an allegory of the Church welcoming within it a family, the Home. It was created by Jacques Gruber (1870 - 1936) in the 1920s. A leading art nouveau artist in France, he is one of the founding members of the Nancy school. He knew how to follow fashions and reinvent himself. In the field of stained glass, J. Grubert is surely one of the greatest artists of his time.
The stained glass window we have here is made with glass of different textures and different colors. The faces and hands of the characters are painted in grisaille. The whole thing is assembled by lead.
Some pieces have breakages.
