"Popular Art Cane, Georges Clemenceau Caricature, Monoxyl Carved Wood, Circa 1906"
Popular Art Cane from the beginning of the 20th century. The top of the barrel is carved with a full-length caricature of Georges Clemenceau. He is represented here with a long body topped by a large head, which was often done in illustrated caricatures but rarely on the canes where only the character's head appeared. The cane is monoxyl, the carved parts are lighter but it is made from a single piece of thorny wood. Note a slight, minor crack on one side of the skull, visible in the photos. The entire cane measures 29,92 inches.
