"Small Property Chest Of Drawers In Walnut, Directoire Style, Louis XVI Period – Late 18th Century"
Small estate chest of drawers, from the Val de Loire region, opening with two identical drawers composed of a miter-cut edge with interior molding. Each of these drawers is fitted with drop handles with original rosettes and an authentic lock with threaded entry and rear key. The square section uprights end in sheathed feet covered with brass shoes. The top, made from a single solid walnut plank, has a miter-cut frame on the three visible sides. An interesting feature, this tray hides underneath a small sliding writing tablet with a brass lens button. You will be won over by the size of this simple and charming little chest of drawers.
