"Wall Clock, Chime, Viennese Regulator 1880 Drp; 19th Century Clock."
Very elegant wall clock in blackened wood. Between two turned columns, the large glass door reveals the enameled dial surrounded by brass and the compensating pendulum (see below). It seems to rest on a console in the shape of a lamp ending in a fine top. The cornice (removable) presents a front view of a woman's head wearing a tiara framed by two fine turnings (small missing). The clock works with its key and strikes the hours and half-hours with clarity and beautiful sonority. Two screws on the outside of the body allow you to adjust the level.
Mark on the back of the mechanism: "DRP" and dated 1880
Swing pendulum with temperature compensation system using rods made of alternating iron and brass, two metals having different coefficients of expansion, thus the expansions oppose and compensate each other.
Very good condition, kept in the same family since its origin.
