Hubert was born in Reims on May 13, 1805. He had already made lithographs on the presses of Boudié in Reims (Marne) and in 1833 applied for patents as a printer in letters and as a lithographer. He obtained from the Public Bookstore Management two patents as bookseller and lithographer. The quality of his lithographed prints is remarkable.
