"Equinoxial Ring In Brass Italy, 18th Century"
Small astronomical ring constructed of brass. It is not signed but the scale of the months is engraved in Italian which allows us to attribute this origin to them. The rather crudely made ring dates back to the 18th century. The meridian circle is engraved on one of its faces with a single 90 degree scale. The suspension ring and its slider are adjusted in relation to these scales by sliding in two grooves. The equinoctial circle bears, on its flat surface, the double time scale (I-XII and XII-I) and, on its edge, the same scale. In the axis of the poles, the diametric blade, the calendar of the months of the year is engraved on only one of its faces. The orifice to receive the Sun's rays slides along this ladder. 7.4cm in diameter and 13cm in height with its double ring.
