"Series Of 6 Cutlery, Silver, Fillets, Coat Of Arms, Paris, 18th Century"
Beautiful series of six silver cutlery, filet model, the spatulas engraved with the Allaince coat of arms, by the master goldsmith Nicolas Vial, Paris 1782-1784. Nicolas Vial was made a master goldsmith in Paris on July 25, 1781. These cutlery items were made over 3 years, which happened quite frequently as part of a large order. The alliance coat of arms is identical on the cutlery series, one difference is that two cutlery sets have supporting coats of arms and the other four are in a cartouche. There must have originally been a large quantity of cutlery and they were shared according to succession. The coat of arms may be those of the Delavaux family or the Villiers family (thanks to Mr Francis Sanchez). Weight 1008g. Condition, very good, traces of use, little wear, they were re-punched under the Restoration (Vieillard). Mr. Sanchez is at your disposal to identify coats of arms.
