"Pair Of Portraits In Miniatures By De Labroue"
Set of 2 portraits, dated 1823, miniatures on ivory, forming a pair signed by Adolphe de Labroue (1791-1853) son of the miniaturist Louise Barbault de la Broue de Saint Avit (1753-1850) who was a student of Elisabeth Vigée-Lebrun and de Ritt, they seem to have only returned from Emigration during the Restoration. The man wears a garment whose buttons are decorated with fleur-de-lis and on the reverse he has the Legion of Honor and apparently a fleur-de-lis on a white ribbon, his wife has a high-waisted dress. Frames never opened.
