"Lalique For Roger & Gallet - Bottle, Le Jade"
Blown-molded glass bottle entitled "Le Jade" created by LALIQUE for Roger et Gallet in 1926. This bottle is in perfect condition. *** Between the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century, many artists took inspiration from the Orient. This is also the case for René Lalique, both in his jewelry and in his glass creations. The Le Jade perfume bottle, which he created for Roger & Gallet in 1926, bears witness to this inspiration. A bird with outstretched wings is represented, flying in a maze of branches. The bottle shows the name of the perfume on one side, and that of the brand on the other. The color of the glass tends to imitate jade, creating an association between the name of the contents and the visual of the container. There are numerous shades of color available for this bottle, from an almost fluorescent green to turquoise. The object is reminiscent of Chinese snuff boxes.
