Circa 1880 India for the domestic market or Persia Very long embroidered shawl on a cream pashmina background called Amlikar. Large reserve of very fine Tibetan goat's down, very tight weave in herringbone twill. Framing a fine polychrome wool embroidery with a boteh design on the four corners. Tapered pashmina fringes on both ends. Several small moth holes and two restored areas in the corners. Very beautiful color and clean reserve. Average state of conservation. Rare piece.
