"Gabriel Argy Rousseau - “thistle Leaves” Model Vase, 1927 In Art Deco Glass Paste"
Large glass paste vase with thick reliefs of thistle leaves and geometric patterns in yellow, ocher, brown and orange. Model created around 1927 entitled "thistle leaves". Signature in the decoration in the lower part "G. Argy Rousseau". Vase in perfect condition. Referenced in the artist's catalog raisonné: Janine Bloch-Dermant, "G. Argy Rousseau", catalog raisonné, Les Éditions de l'Amateur, Paris, 1990, model reproduced pp. 74 and 210 under ref. 27.01. An identical model is kept at the Museum of Decorative Arts in the city of Paris. It is the first vase by the artist to enter the MAD collections. Inv. 2017.93
