Rare piece of Neoclassical woodwork. It is probably the base of a walnut column or pilaster, formerly polychrome. Fine carving of gadroons enhanced by foliage. Ideal for enhancing any objet d'art such as a clock, vase, sculpture, etc.
Provenance: home of Georges Audigier (1863 - 1925) French politician and writer.
Condition report: good condition, traces of woodworm.
