“A future artist” by Henri Plé (1853-1922). Charming subject in bronze with a nuanced brown patina, representing a young boy standing, leaning on a stone, accompanied by his little dog, the young man is in the process of sculpting a dog's head in a piece of wood, he takes the head of his faithful companion. This bronze is a beautifully crafted old print, based on the work of Henri Honoré Plé, titled “A future artist” and signed on the base “H.PLE”. Henri Honoré Plé (1853-1922) was born in Paris on March 2, 1853, painter and sculptor, he was a student of Mathurin Moreau, he exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Français from 1877 to 1914, he participated in the universal exhibition of 1900 where he received a bronze medal.
