A student at the Rouen School of Fine Arts, he founded the Society of Rouen Artists in 1906 with his painter friend Marcel Delaunay. Closely linked with Albert Lebourg2, he initially exhibited at the Salon de la Société nationale des beaux-arts then at the Salon des independents and at the Salon des Tuileries.
