"Knight In Armor, 19th"
This sculpture represents a knight in armour dating from the 19ᵉ century, it is possibly from Northern Europe. The horse is made of life-size papier-mâché, the armour is entirely handmade by hammering, it is made of zinc and the assembly of the different parts is entirely riveted, the saddle is made of leather. The horse's attitude is very interesting, it recalls the interest at the end of the 19ᵉ century of the troubadour period (neo-renaissance, in the spirit of Viollet-le-Duc). The sculptural ensemble stands on a wooden plinth. Impressive sculpture, all the work done by hand.
