Ramon Planella was a Spanish painter born in Barcelona in 1783 and died in Rome in 1819. He studied at the school of Llotja and taught in 1814. He is known for his portrait of the sculptor Jaume Folch i Costa. His copies of Rafael and Garofalo are kept at the Royal Catalan Academy of Fine Arts of Saint Jordi.
