Pair of Louis XVI style candelabra in chiseled and gilded bronze with three arched arms of light decorated with falling foliage, fluting and pilasters. The two candelabras are signed on the base by the founders SUSSE Frères in Paris and the sculptor Bonnefond.

Claude Bonnefond born in 1868 in Mâcon is best known for his contribution to the Art Nouveau artistic movement. A style characterized by organic shapes inspired by nature, such as leaves, flowers and insects, as well as rich and elaborate ornamentation. Our pair of candelabras is certainly an earlier creation in association with the Susse Frères house.
