Georges Planès also taught at the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs. He died in 1977, leaving behind an important artistic legacy. His work is varied and includes oil paintings, watercolors and drawings. He was influenced by the great masters of French painting such as Claude Monet, Pierre Bonnard and Edouard Vuillard. Planes was known for his use of color and light to create atmosphere in his paintings. He also used impressionist painting techniques by applying quick strokes of paint and playing with texture. His landscapes often depict scenes from northern France, including the streets of Paris, the beaches of Normandy, and the small villages of the French countryside. He also painted portraits, still lifes and scenes of daily life. In 2018, a retrospective exhibition of his work entitled "Georges Planes, a light on France" took place at the Taylor Foundation in Paris. The exhibition featured 88 works by Planes, including landscapes, portraits and still lifes. His paintings are sought after by collectors.
