Henry DÉZIRÉ (1878, Libourne -1965, Paris) Pierrot in front of a sleeping silhouette Charcoal and pastel on paper, unsigned, framed under glass. Note: Henry Déziré received initial training as a moulder-founder before being noticed and encouraged by William Bouguereau to join the Académie Julian then the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris in 1899. He set up his workshop in Montparnasse and did his debut at the Salon de la Société des Artistes Français in 1904 then at the Salon d'Automne from 1908 before being exhibited at the Durand-Ruel gallery. Today we find some of his paintings in the collections of the Museum of Modern Art in Paris and the Georges Pompidou center.
