Christoffer Wilhelm Eckersberg is the most important painter of  of Danish painting's  "Golden Age". Young Pupil of David, at 3, rue de Beaune in Paris, he remained faithful to Neo-Classicism.
The Nathanson Family by CW Eckersberg is one of the most striking paintings in the National Gallery of Denmark. 
Our enlarged academic copy of the 2 main characters on this painting, the Mother and the eldest Daughter, monumentally poses the Empire ideal in painting, through expression, posture and colors.
