Former portrait of Empress Eugenie de Montijo, wife of Emperor Napoleon III. The empress is represented as a chimera, the body of a cow. The sculpture is titled Eugenie Sculpture in terracotta colored plaster. The male counterpart of the Emperor is also available in another listing. 14cm in length and 12cm in height Very good condition Badinguet was the satirical nickname given to Emperor Napoleon III (his wife, Empress Eugénie, was nicknamed Badinguette). In 1840, Louis-Napoléon Bonaparte attempted a landing at Boulogne-sur-Mer, at the head of around fifty conspirators, to overthrow Louis-Philippe. Arrested, he was imprisoned at the fortress of Ham, in the Somme. On May 25, 1846, he escaped by borrowing the clothes and papers of a painter who, according to some, was nicknamed Badinguet.
