Pretty Cartographer's Compass, Nickel, Foldable, Case, Dedicated, Dated 1896

As discovered, this charming pocket compass is nickel, (or nickel-plated), unfolds into 3 sections, first with a hollow groove containing point, line puller and lead pencil rotating around axis. Height of compass unfolded: 12cm.
The item belonged to, or was gifted to, WT Peacock, 1896.
It’s superb quality, very precise adjustment…. In pretty case, shagreen style lined with purple silk, there is, (icing on the cake) a micro lead case from ivory, cylindrical.
