"François Maury (marseille 1861-1933) Young Naked Woman Draped In Her Boudoir Painting Painting Oil Close To Monticelli"
Beautifully highlighted by an Art Deco style frame circa 1910 - 1920 in carved wood with a golden-copper patina, this oil on beveled wood panel represents a ravishing young naked woman in her boudoir nonchalantly leaning on the scarlet cushion of the sofa. She pulls up the sheet with her left hand and stares at us, smiling, with a confident look, red lips and the short hairstyle of the time. A post-impressionist touch typical of our artist and a rich palette, flat areas of bright colors, characterize this work of great pictorial quality. Signed in red at the bottom right "F. Maury", the painting is in very good condition. Painter of the Provençal school, this close friend of Monticelli is listed in the Alauzen Dictionary of Provençal painters and sculptors. It is also listed in Bénézit: at the back of the painting, you will discover the instructions written by the gallery owner and painting expert Charles Garibaldi.
