Imposing Yoruba horseman. Height 82 cm, numerous wear and dents, native restoration on the lance, beautiful remains of polychromy probably restored in places. The horse is rare in sub-Saharan Africa and was intended for chiefs and important people, the fact that the proportion is not exact with the animal is intended, it is to show the superiority of man, of the leader. The statue is old, probably around 1940/50 and shows a lot of wear which contributes greatly to the aesthetics of the statue, it was undoubtedly an altar statue.
