"Sculpture The Cat By Lhoste"
Sculpture by Claude Lhoste measuring 18 cm high by 24 cm long mounted on a wooden base in perfect condition. A rare piece and an original subject, this sculpture will be enjoyed in all types of interior. For those of the sculptor Claude Lhoste (1929-2010) was a child frustrated at not being able to bring home the animal of his desires, and who suddenly understood that the earth was his ally. It allowed him to recreate these animals, small or large, without which he could not live. Cats, goats, owls, ants, pike... Claude Lhoste's sculptures are the result of a long observation of the customs of his hosts, of a visual and emotional shock through which he discovered the mystery of these perfect beings. The animal was reimagined many times before being transcribed directly into the earth. He was also a designer curious about new techniques and eager to master them. The original form has become essence, it is nothing more than the setting where movement is expressed. The unified volumes surrounded by an undulating and continuous line punctuate the action of the animal, their destiny and their tension translate the movement of the spirit. Sometimes he reminded himself that a woman's body could be voluptuously beautiful but it is through the animal that his work reaches the sublime. His sculptures are steeped in tenderness, humor and love. Caressed with light, the shapes modeled by Claude Lhoste are a brilliant hymn to sculpture and to life.
